Someone has to do this ...Questions about this site

#1
Someone has to do this, so it may as well be me. Anyway, I am already a member of UKP, saw this site mentioned there by admin and so I have registered here. Anyway, I have a few questions about how this new site works. I understand that part of the idea is to allow wgs to advertise themselves via their profiles but there also seems to be an element of facebook and twitter to this site. I can see that we can send members likes and follow them. How does this work though ? Are the likes in relation to seeing a particular post and thinking "oh that was a good post" or is it intended more as a flirty thing ? I would imagine the follow option is more for anyone who is making an interesting contribution in general. Fairly basic questions I know but there must be others wondering how everything works.

I assumed the like part was for a post you found interesting or helpful and not so much for flirting although I can see now it has been mentioned some will use it that way and just like every post someone makes to try and look good for them.
I thought the follow was the same type of thing you follow people who have made more than one post you are interested in and also who you may connect with be it over values, hobbies or just having the same sense of humour as it can make it much easier when the site gets very busy to find that person and see what they have posted by clicking on your profile and people you follow than trawling for them

I am seriously hoping it can in the long term replace the adultwork message system which is so frustrating. Its almost impossible to use as a communiction tool. So many messages are simply ignored and misunderstood. Perhaps in a forum like this the wg is more likely to engage with a guy where she can read the history of the things he says and thereby more inclined to respond. Not every conversation has to end in a date but if it does it may be more successful.

Just saying.....

Redpanda what you have said is similar to what I said on UKP that at least guys can get to see the personality of the woman he may choose to book and work out from what he sees if he would still like to see her. Even when trying to post a different way your true personality invariably comes out when something you don't agree with or like is posted so on both sides we get to see the personalities of those booking or those you may wish to book with. It can either confirm your choice or make you change your mind. As for contact on here I was having pms with a few people last night and it is much easier to use than AW although if trying to talk to one or more people it can get a little confusing if you do it via phone as one person found out last night and must have thought me barmy as we were discussing a rather important topic when I replied that Znation is a comic version of TWD **Note to self don't try to have three different convos on here when using phone

The problem with that Red Panda is that to reply the woman has to log in here.

Personally I prefer any booking enquiries to be sent directly by email, or telephone. Juggling forum PMs, AW messages, text and phone calls is a fine art and having to have the site open just one extra messaging system. Also some guys will email, use a contact form from a directory, text, phone and then use his AW account thinking that if he uses as many forms as possible she'll see he's genuine. On the other end of that is a bit of a nightmare. Sometimes the guy thinks I somehow realise that 'Dave192' on AW is 'hotdog' Dave on a forum.

Other ladies may be different, but I like to keep things simple and not knowing who is a forum member can make for a much cleaner booking.

I agree and have always asked new clients who contact me via a forum about a booking to either call or email but not to tell me he is a member on the forum. Otherwise I feel uncomfortable. I don't want anyone to be in a position where it ends up as a case of well I am a member on.... so you had better do.... or even for me to treat them different just because they happen to be a member even though not intentionally I am pretty sure subconsciously we would all try a little more which may even end up being overpowering. I don't mind knowing at the end of the booking though. I guess it could be better worse both ways, they don't tell you so you are meeting a stranger with no hidden clauses or they do tell you as you have things in common so it makes the first meeting easier. OH I am making my own head hurt so will shut up now

Youve hit the nail on the head. I have arranged dates through all media. Even twitter for god's sake and as long as they remain distinct it works but as soon as the lines blur it is diffcult to remain impartial.

I think the point I was making is while email, text, phone, forum and twitter work, the AW message system has become a nightmare for me to the point where I am reluctant to use it. I think it stems from a general mistrust of the site but at the same time it is the best we have. a double edged sword. Rest your head Dani ......

I'm ok with AW email, but that's because I reply fairly quickly, and can see whether my reply has been read. I can also point a person in the direction of my profile if they start email ping pong.

I think I see how it works now. The like option seems to be for individual posts as that option seems to appear on the posts only rather than on individual profiles.

Like Facebook?

Where's the poke function :D
When I was new to facebook, I have to admit the poke was something I didn't quite understand. I may have been a bit dirty minded but I thought at first it may have been a button you pressed for a female friend you fancied. Still I thought, surely there are social protocols, you can't just go poking straight away !

Was the OP worried that giving someone a like is the equivalent to flirting with someone?

I always assumed that was the case myself :rose:

I like some aspects of this forum. It gives punters and SPs the chance to find out a bit more about each other. My one gripe is that there are a lot of SPs registered but no way to tell which part of the country they are in without looking at each profile.
I may see a photo of a girl pop up and be interested in booking her. Right up until I look at the profile and see that she's 300 miles away.
We could do with a way to look for profiles based on towns or areas.

I find some of the threads genuinely informative and interesting.........a lot of tat and nonsence makes it fun ......but thin on booked SP's...........strange but for a couple of exceptions.........I dont see this as a vehicle for my weekly punts.............

UKP is primarily about services from a punters' point of view only.

UKE is run by the same admin but for both punters and escorts, and on this site one may advertise or seek services.

That doesn't mean "anything goes" on this site, for example we (punters) should not post personal reviews here (whereas we do on ukpunting).
And obviously escorts do not start posting reviews about who has visited them.

Absolutely. Hate adult work with a passion- had so many problems with the site and would love this to be a replacement, eventually xx

I regard this site as a place for banter. If I want to be made feel the size of a peanut with everyone knowing better than me and some even inventing bookings saying how bad I treat people then I know what site to go to. If I want to go to a site where girls are right in the majority, then I will go to another site. :D

All three sites imo do a good job in that which they were started for. A balance of all three helps everyone play the gane better and safer.

Trip Advisor would not make any sense in this context. I agree with you though about Mumsnet, it appears as equally bonkers as the site I had in mind.

There’s a thread on the London board which tries to list the SP’s who are in London.
Maybe set up something similar in your area?

I was being silly. I had a pretty good idea which one's you meant.

I am sure that someone will have reviewed local 'attractions' on Trip Adviser though. It did amaze me how many reviews the Euston fun palace had on there with no-one mentioning anything.
